Alchemist or White Mage ? - Square Forums

Alchemist rules!

Alchemist is my 3rd favorite DS after Mascot (for power) and Dark Knight (for looks and power).

I don't get why people use White Mage after you get Alchemist... Why would anyone use WM in FFX2 ? It doesn't have Holy or Auto Life like in FFX.

Why would anyone prefer White Mage over Alchemist ? (Both fully "loaded")
- WM has no attacks, Alc has a powerful gun attack and can mix many more attacks
- WM only heals or revives one girl at a time, Alc "Stash" heals the whole party with 2,000 points with MegaPotion and revives all 3 of them (even herself if cast at the right time) with a Mega Phoenix.
- Alchemist opens up an incredible amount of full party "spells" like mixing 2 chocobo feathers to get the entire party on "haste". The same goes for attacks, you can mix some pretty nasty bombs and spells that kill all your enemies at once
- WM has less HP than Alchemist
- Alchemist looks cooler!!

Mirage answers

alchemist are indeed good with their unlimited stash with, for instance, mega-potions…. But its kinda irrelevant sometimes, actually. Its good using it (mega-potion stash, for instance) in normal battles but against bosses like those in the Via Infinito, we have no time (depending of course) to wait for the long wait time of the ‘stash’ ability so we just use regular items most of the time… with less 80% of the time of course, lol.
So what I mean is, that the white mage DS cant really be compared with alchemistmist when it comes to comparing the white magic and the stash ability since this last one takes too much time to load and thus, we’ll only use tabilitiesities in battle that require less speed and it becomes kinda limited when it comes to tough battles. White magic with the proper abilities/GG/whatever is really fast to do and restoration-wise,alchemistemist only beats the WM when it comes to the usage of regular items becauses its faster =\...although only with the 80% less wait time auto ability.

But yeah, of co alchemist in most aspects beats white mage, its just there are people like me who feel pain everytime they have to use an item and have to abide the 99 quantity of each item =P I cant stand using ethers, nor mega-potions or elixirs, etc >.< I just use both DSs, lol. MIX = double the pain x_X

Rikku's star answers

Alchemist because if you use a holy water and a fire, water, ice or lightning gem you get 10,000+ damage.

KOFF answers

Having a mix of the characters would be an idea (I mean having 1 as WH and one as Al *winks to someone* XD )

It's hard to choose... Mirage kinda stated the reasons :/

Final Fantasy X-2 Ultimania Translations by Ryu Kaze - IGN FAQs

Wow! Ryu has just published some great goodies for us FFX and X2 fanatics! Check it out:
**The thoughts that reside in the Dressphere**
Lenne's thoughts remained attached to the songstress dressphere [that
features] the same outfit she wore. 1000 years then passed with this remaining
the case, and then the time of the Eternal Calm arrived for the world, with
the dressphere being discovered and utilized; Lenne's thoughts would then be
imparted to Yuna as she wore it and would occasionally rise to the surface of
her consciousness.

When Yuna attaches the songstress dressphere to her body, little by little
Lenne's thoughts flow into Yuna via the clothing and her behavior begins to
reflect this. When she recovers it in Luca during Chapter 1, she begins to
dance uncontrollably; in Chapter 3, when she meets Shuyin in the abyss of the
Farplane, the thoughts leave her unable to move.....

This kind of phenomenon is only seen in matters concerning Yuna, and the
summoner also shares [with Lenne] that their beloved sweethearts bear
appearances that are much the same, a link [that is] an odd turn of
chance......The truth behind the cause of this link is not certain.

[Analysis: Doesn't really tell us anything we didn't know before.]

Much more at the source!

Final Fantasy X-2 Ultimania FAQ - IGN FAQs

Shuyin: Ryu Kaze translation of Ultimania Guide

In regard to the young man named "Shuyin," the "Shuyin" that appears in the story is not Shuyin himself. It is not exactly his corpse. The Shuyin in the story is full of the despair, hatred and negative destructive thoughts of the Shuyin of 1000 years ago, preserved by pyreflies -- which became the "shadow" of Shuyin.

As seen in the Yevon Dome in X, in places where pyreflies are densely packed, they will remember moments from the past and project them. In regard to the Shuyin in the story, these kinds of phantom thoughts began acting on their own, in a unique case of those who have died.

The difference between the corpse and the "shadow" is that its pyreflies do not possess the means of ordinary physical interaction. While the "shadow" of Shuyin lacks physical substance, it is possible for it to produce extensions of itself and for it to directly influence the state of mind of those around it (as seen inside the sealed cave). In order for it to begin physically interacting with the living world outside, it needed to possess someone to act as a vessel. In order to be a suitable vessel for it, someone must be of similar disposition and have the physical and spiritual strength he needs. Furthering this need to find what is considered a suitable vessel is that if the current vessel should lose consciousness, transferring to a new one is not possible.

Ryu comments:
It talks about him in the UO as though he's not really Shuyin, but in all the ways that really matter (emotions and memories) he is; I'm not even sure what became of the life energy of the original Shuyin, but if its memories were somehow imprinted on other pyreflies, I'd guess that it merged with them or something. So for all intents and purposes, this "shadow" is Shuyin but it's completely focused on his despair and hate

Site Meter - Adding Sitemeter to a Wiki

On Monobook.php (under /skins usually) you can add it pretty much anywhere.

I added it to the header, just before the Personal bar, where will looks like this

To do the same, on Monobook.php

Add the sitemeter code in a line item of the ul (Between a < li > and < /li > tags>)

(replace s24 and sxxxxxx with your counter stuff)

Just to make sure you didn't delete anything, make sure the next line after your sitemetr stuff reads like this:

Save it, upload it to the place it was before.. All Done!

GameFAQs: Spira's History Timeline

By pmog

As promised, this is the official Spiran timeline taken from the FFX OUG published by DigiCube/Square-Enix. Translation is entirely my own effort. To Japanese-enabled people, please feel free to help me improve by correcting any errors/pointing out any nuances I missed.

Events taking place in Dream Zanarkand are marked with a '*'.

Approximately 3000 years ago

- The development of the magic civilisation.
- The invention of machina.
- The use of machina spreads throughout Spira.
- The appearance of machina which surpasses magic.
- The machina civilisation attains its prosperity.

Approximately 1000 years ago

- Zanarkand, mainly using summoning as a method of combat, fights with the machina-armed Bevelle. (Outbreak of the Machina War.)
(Both countries are machina civilisations, but Bevelle, which mainly uses machina weapons, are dominant from the beginning. Zanarkand inevitably falls.)
- Summoner Yevon, ruler of Zanarkand, turns the surviving citizens of Zanarkand into fayth. (The fayth statues are created at Mt Gagazet.)
- Using the power of these fayth, Yevon summons Dream Zanarkand - the memory of Zanarkand. He himself becomes Yu Yevon, and creates the first Sin. (The birth of Sin.)
(The first Sin is the only one that doesn't use an aeon as its core.)
* The birth of Dream Zanarkand.
- Starting with the abandoned city of Zanarkand and Bevelle, Sin destroys the machina civilisations.
(The citizens of Bevelle at that time think that what Yevon had summoned from the Zanarkand fayth was Sin, and that Sin going around destroying everything is a sign of Yevon's violent anger.)
- Yunalesca, a summoner from Zanarkand, turns her husband Zaon into a fayth and destroys Sin with the Final Summoning. She remains on Spira as an Unsent.
(Yunalesca and Zaon are the only ones to escape during the fall of Zanarkand. She uses the Final Summoning with the knowledge that it will not fundamentally solve anything.)
- The survivors start work on the reconstruction of Spira, focusing on Bevelle.
- The second Sin appears publicly with Yunalesca's Final Aeon (Zaon) as its core. It destroys the remaining machina civilisations.
(Because Sin attacks machina civilisations, there is a widening trend of people abandoning machina.)
- The Yevon Temple is established in Bevelle. By propagating teachings - paying homage to Yevon and Yunalesca and preaching of machina prohibition - which are absorbed throughout the world, and seizing public sentiment, the Temples take complete psychological control of Spira.*
- The Yevon Temple adds the concept that Sin is a punishment for people's sins into its doctrine. At the same time, it spreads the story that the Calm will arrive with the use of the Final Summoning.
(People who express discontent that Sin will not disappear even if they believe in the teachings are dealt with harshly by the Temples. The Temples shift the root of why Sin will not disappear onto the people of Spira, and moreover, try to bring about stability to the public by leaving them with the hope that once they atone for their sins, Sin will also go away. The Temples also spread stories of the Final Summoning and the Calm in order to sustain the people's hope.

Approximately 800 years ago

- Mi'ihen founds the Crimson Blades (later known as the Crusaders) and heads to Bevelle to push for entry into the Yevon Temple.
- Mi'ihen founds the Crusaders' Monster Arena in the Calm Lands.

Approximately 700 years ago

- The Yevon priest Omega is executed by the Temples for the sin of treason.

Approximately 500 years ago

- Mi'ihen Highroad (the old road) is destroyed by Sin and a new road is built.

Approximately 400 years ago

- Summoner Gandof defeats Sin with his Final Summoning and becomes the first high summoner in history.
(This gives credence to Yevon's teachings, and doubts about the Temples subside.)
- The third Sin appears publicly, with Gandof's Final Aeon as its core.

Approximately 230 years ago

- Summoner Ohalland, a former blitzball player, defeats Sin with his Final Summoning and becomes a high summoner.
- The fourth Sin appears publicly, with Ohalland's Final Aeon as its core.

Approximately 100 years ago

- Summoner Yocun, a former Crusader, defeats Sin with her Final Summoning and becomes a high summoner.
- The fifth Sin appears publicly, with Yocun's Final Aeon as its core.

- Kimahri Ronso is born.

- Wakka is born.
- The Besaid Aurochs lose in the first round of the blitzball tournament at Luca. This starts a 23 year losing streak.

- Lulu is born.

Approximately 20 years ago

- Internal discord intensifies within the Guado tribe. Jyscal prevents disunity in the Guado by banishing his wife and child to Baaj.

- Wakka begins playing blitzball.
- Aware of her impending death, Seymour's mother travels to the Zanarkand Ruins along with her son and becomes the fayth for Seymour's Final Aeon, Anima. Seymour refuses to accept his mother's power and returns to Baaj.
(Seymour's mother knows of the mechanics of the Final Summoning through Jyscal. It is thought that the Guado possess their own records, which tell of the sealed histories in fragments. Furthermore, it appears that Jyscal is aware of Seymour and his mother going to the Zanarkand Ruins, and privately supports it.)
- A priest from Bevelle named Braska elopes with the younger sister of Cid of the Al Bhed tribe.
(Braska becomes close to Cid's sister while visiting the Al Bhed Home to make contact with the Al Bhed. After their marriage, Braska's career prospects are completely derailed for wedding a Yevon opposer. Likewise, Cid severs all ties with his sister.)

* Tidus is born to Jecht and his wife.
- Yuna is born to Braska and Cid's sister.

- While heading to the Al Bhed Home by ship, Yuna's mother is killed by Sin. Braska makes a firm decision to become a summoner.

- Wakka joins the Besaid Aurochs.
* While out training for blitzball at sea, Jecht touches the fifth Sin, and is transported to Spira.
- The warrior monk Auron becomes the guardian of Summoner Braska. Braska also makes Jecht, who is imprisoned in Bevelle, his newest guardian, and the three leave on a pilgrimage to obtain the Final Summoning.
- Summoner Braska defeats Sin using Jecht as the fayth for his Final Summoning, and becomes a high summoner.
- Auron challenges Yunalesca by himself, and is mortally wounded.
- Kimahri's horn is broken by Biran and he leaves Gagazet, unable to bear the shame.
- A dying Auron entrusts Yuna to Kimahri on the outskirts of Bevelle and then passes away. He becomes an Unsent.
- With the arrival of the Calm, the Guado's internal discord subsides. Following that trend, Seymour's exile is revoked. He returns to Guadosalam and assists his father as a priest.
- Kimahri brings Yuna to Besaid Village.
- Auron rides Jecht's Sin to Dream Zanarkand and begins to watch over Tidus.

Blitzball players - Eyes on Final Fantasy Forums

ok, so i've started again and am about to blitz un luca for the 1st time. i was wondering which players u wud recommend i recruit afterwards.

Renmiri says:

Shuu for sure. Get Brother as soon as you can. But the real trick is get the Jecht shot. You can win even with original Aurochs after that.

Also, be aware that some players top at certain point and never get past it. Luca players don't go past a certain level so although they are the best in the begining they end up being the lamest after you played a lot.

Invest on evolving the Aurochs. They evolve all the way to level 100

crazybayman says
LW - Tidus
MF - Brother - on the airship
RW Wedge - he's guarding the blitzball stadium entrance
D Kyou - on the bridge in front of Djose Temple
D Ropp - Can't remember off the top of my head
G Miyu - Moonflow, North Bank, in the area before you acquire Rikku

Get Brother. Trust me. Probably the best MF in the game.

This team owns.

However, in Luca, until you get to these places further on in your journey, you can get the following in Luca:

LW Tidus
MF - Zev Ronso slow, but good EN
RW - Wedge
D - Zalitz, go down toward the theatre in Luca, he's sitting down on the catwalk

4evarisha says:
if u can try to get Lakkam or Balgerda.
my players

Kyou or Miyu

Endless Twilight says:
The best team to have just after Luca is

LF: Tidus
RF: Wedge/Shaami (Shaami has more longevity. Wedge only lasts for the first 20 levels)
MF: Zev Ronso
LD: Zalitz
RD: Ropp (He's not in Luca, but he's pretty close)
GL: Jumal

RE: Brother: (Best MF ?) Only up to Lv40 or so. I don't like him - he's too overpowered. (No one can stop him or even catch him at times)

Renmiri says:

Kyou is the guy that looks like Beclem from FFX-2 right ? He is good! And part of my Beclem Fan fiction, so I always have him on my team when I'm not with the full Aurochs... Datto and Jassu reek!!!!

Posted by Endless Twilight:
Yes, Kyou looks like Beclem. He's got high EN and AT and pretty good CA at the lower levels, but his BL doesn't really increase until the mid-high levels. What use is a defender with no BL?"

REM Lyrics - Losing My Religion

(love this song... -- Ren)

Oh.. Life is bigger
It's bigger than you
And you are not me
The lengths that I will go to
The distance in your eyes
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up

That's me in the corner
That's me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don't know if I can do it
Oh no I've said too much
I haven't said enough
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

Every whisper
Of every waking hour I'm
Choosing my confessions
Trying to keep an eye on you
Like a hurt lost and blinded fool
Oh no I've said too much
I set it up

Consider this
The hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me
To my knees failed
What if all these fantasies
Come flailing around
Now I've said too much
I thought that I heard you laughing
I thought that I heard you sing
I think I thought I saw you try

But that was just a dream
That was just a dream

bBlog - free php blog script :: View topic - Site Meter

Armed with almost, no exactly NO knowlege whatsoever, I'm trying to install a site meter. Am I correct that one of the plugins is a site meter? I'm trying to install one from, but the only reference to php blogs says I need to find a file "theme.php" I am suspicious that is for NUKE, and not bBlog. Any help with this?

Hijacker answers:

Well, basically the bblog themes are in yourblogdirectory/bblog/templates/lines/ - for the lines templates. the last folder may vary, according to what template you are using. In there you will find several html files. These are the files, where you have to put your sitemeter stuff in.
The ones of most interest to you might be: header.html , index.html and footer.html. I guess footer.html is the one you are searching for. You can place your code in there.

But don't ask me sitemeter relating stuff, I don't know how to deal with it, never used... Probably someone else in here does Wink
